Mourad Assouil is the founder of Gomel’s annual Classical Music Forum, an event that promotes and supports classical music in the region.

The Forum offers a varied programme of concerts, alongside masterclasses, lectures, and seminars led by musicians and professors from Belarus and neighbouring countries.

As an author, scriptwriter, and conductor, he has worked on a number of projects with the Gomel Symphony Orchestra, the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Belarus, and Musical Chapel & Orchestra ‘Sonorus’.

The Battle of Four Seasons

A symphonic experience that takes audiences on a journey through the emotional landscape of nature across the year. The programme includes a variety of musical pieces, such as Vivaldi's lively violin concertos capturing the freshness of spring, excerpts from Haydn's oratorio blending classical elegance with pastoral themes to evoke summer, Piazzolla's tango-infused score representing autumn's reflective mood, and Tchaikovsky’s works expressing the introspective beauty of winter.  After the first cycle of the seasons concludes, the audience is invited to experience a fresh interpretation of each season, this time presented through the lens of a different composer.

Featuring soloists on violin, saxophone, accordion, and cello, the performance highlights both technical skill and the emotional depth of each instrument. Each composer’s interpretation offers a distinct emotional and stylistic reading, enriching the journey through the changing landscapes of the year.

Belarusian Echoes

A concert series aimed at reviving lesser-known and previously undiscovered works by Belarusian composers. The initiative presents a diverse selection of pieces from the 19th to the 21st century, featuring 56 compositions by 35 composers. This provides audiences with a unique listening experience, showcasing a range of styles and influences.

Several of these works have since become regular features in the repertoire of orchestral ensembles in Belarus, reflecting the series' contribution to the region's musical culture. This is significant not only for preserving and promoting a rich musical heritage but also for fostering a greater appreciation of contemporary compositions among both musicians and audiences.

The central concept behind this production lies in showcasing the development of Chinese composition school and vocal traditions influenced by the Italian bel canto, creating a fusion of cultural artistry.
